The finals of the Funan E-Gaming Challenge saw relatively high standards of play, with team members from established competitive teams dN*, Mi2, Wrath* and Zenith all making their presence felt.
In the finals, Teams ITE FTW (ITE (Tampines)) faced tough resistance from Team NP (Ngee Ann Polytechnic). Both teams reached a stalemate after about an hour into the game, with ITE FTW unable to push down to their opponent’s base and Team NP unable to push in.
However, Team NP played their cards well and played a game of attrition, slowly grinding down ITE FTW’s base, taking down one structure at a time. A 3 lane push by Team NP cleared out most of ITE FTW’s remaining barracks, and the next push took out all of them. The Throne went down shortly after, ending the game with a Team NP win at 2 hour 4 minutes. This will be the second year running that Ngee Ann Polytechnic has taken the Interschool E-Gaming Challenge championship.
Zenith-led teams found themselves in the 3rd place deciding match. Team TP (Temasek Polytechnic), led by Zenith’s Lux, faced off against Zynergy (Anglo-Chinese (Independent)), led by team mate Ant. Team TP eventually overcame Zynergy in a straightforward 1 hour 15 minute match.
Final result for DotA is Team NP (Ngee Ann Polytechnic) emerging as champions, ITE FTW (ITE (Tampines)) taking runner-up, and Team TP (Temasek Polytechnic) taking second runner-up
