TNP Cyber Challenge to be held in June

A new competition, The New Paper Cyber Challenge, has appeared in the tournaments listing on the e-Sports Championship website. The competition is slated to be held on 14 to 17 June 2007 and will feature 5 different PC and PlayStation 3 games.

The TNP Cyber Challenge appears to be geared towards a more casual audience, with the inclusion of PlayStation 3 games Fight Night Round 3, NBA Home Court and Need For Speed Carbon. According to the the ESC website, the Need For Speed Carbon competition is open only to “Father-Child teams”, hinting at a Fathers’ Day special event.

The PC games to be played are more traditional competitive games. There will be 5v5 Battlefield 2142 and a 64 team 2v2 Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars competitions. This will be one of the first major C&C3 competitions to be held in Singapore.

The TNP Cyber Challenge was previously announced in a [url=]press release[/url]. There has been no recent official announcement from either The New Paper or Rapture Gaming regarding Cyber Challenge however. Details published on the e-Sports Championship website might be tentative in nature and subject to change.
