Team xqR has traditionally met strong opponents early in tournaments, and this one is no exception. They have been seeded against Micronology in the very first round of the tournament. It looks to be a very exciting match up for the early birds spectators.
The winner of the xqR and Micronology match will most likely proceed to the finals, where they are likely to face team rEv0, who have a relatively easier time against unknown teams in their half of the bracket.
Meanwhile, the lower bracket seem to be seeded with relatively unknown teams. A name that stands out from the pack is Porque, a team from Singapore Polytechnic which took part in the recently concluded Interschool E-Gaming Challenge.
It should be noted, however, that nothing can be certain. Certain teams in Singapore have a history of playing in tournaments under different names so as to avoid being recognized from the fixtures. This practice is known as “smurfing”.
A good example would be team MYRMIDONS. They played under the name “TWTF2” at the recent IGC HIGH Cyber Lounge event and made it to the finals before being eliminated by dN*.
