[b]SINGAPORE[/b] – The New Paper Cyber Challenge video gaming event opens today at the Funan DigitaLife Mall and will be held from 11am to 7pm daily until Sunday.
The TNP Cyber Challenge features PlayStation 3 games geared towards the casual crowd; and PC games Battlefield 2142 and Command & Conquer 3 tournaments catered more towards the competitive gaming crowd.
Gamers will be able to try out the recently launched PlayStation 3, linked up to high-definition Sony Bravia LCD screens, at free play kiosks at the event. Acer will also be selling the competition PCs at S$999, a 30% discount off the shelf price.
For those who have missed out on the registration, walk-in registration is still available for the Fight Night Round 3 and Need for Speed Carbon tournaments. Fight Night Round 3 is an individual game, while Need for Speed Carbon is a Father’s Day father and child team tournament.
Over S$13,000 worth of cash, Playstation 3 consoles and EA game vouchers are up for grabs. There will also be a lucky draw where participants stand to win EA game bundles and PSP sets.
The TNP Cyber Challenge is presented by Sony, sponsored by Acer and co-sponsored by Electronic Arts.
