Owners of N-series Nokia mobile phones will soon be able to enjoy game titles such as Snake Subsonic and FIFA 08 on the go as part of a reinvented N-Gage, announced Nokia at the Games Convention Asia 2007.

While the N-Gage was previously a series of handsets, the new N-Gage is an online mobile games service where users will be able to download and purchase games seamlessly.

“We believe that the N-Gage service, combined with powerful devices, world class titles and brands, and interactive social networking features, takes the mobile gaming experience beyond traditional boundaries,” said Mr Jawahar Kanjilal, Nokia’s Director for Multimedia Experiences in Asia Pacific.

Titles from publishers such as Electronic Arts, Gameloft and Vivendi Games Mobile will be available when the service launches.

The N-Gage games service will be available to consumers from November 2007 on compatible N-series such as the N73 and N81. Older phones, such as the N72, will not be supported.

To enjoy the service, existing users of compatible mobile phones can download the application from www.n-gage.com when the service launches. New phones will have the N-gage application preinstalled.
