Week 4 and the heat is on for some teams! 2Fort was the map of the week, a map where spawn camping is a legitimate response to getting the flag out of the base and back to yours in one piece.
The matches generally ended up going surprisingly easy – most teams playing heavy D and only rushing out when the other side made the gamble to attack, capitalizing on dead members to overpower sentries and spawn camp.
Of course, there were exceptions, such as the amazing ninja engineer abilities of Lamer -V- Co., who snuck into FGI’s base and planted a teleporter right in their base without any of them realizing it. This let -V- Co. maintain the pressure, and anytime FGI threatened to storm -V- Co.’s base, they simply had a member teleport to FGI’s intel room and snatch the intel, scaring FGI back to defend the flag.
Vice’s showdown with S’un was an epic and closely watched one, with both sides going neck-and-neck one-for-one on captures. Neither side was able to capitalize on chances to spawn camp, but #Vice’s AliKahn, showing how a pyro can be used in a scrim effectively, mowed down the opposition. Unfortunately, despite being a pyro he wasn’t able to stop Agent Fruitloops |S’un|from ninjaing in with a spy and grabbing the intel.
In 2Fort, it’s rabidly important to cover the two main ways to get to the intel – the spiral staircase and the long stairs – and a single well-placed sentry can do both. Despite this however, #Vice wasn’t able to stop the frequent incursions of |S’un| who were probing everywhere for just the right weak spot and capitalized on it.
H2H pretty much steamrolls r4 by not even letting them come out of their base, setting the mood for a quick 4-0 finisher. While r4 had a few chances to attempt to cap, most wtf moment of the week goes to Yanhao for thinking "G" is drop and unable to give it to the scout to run it back to r4’s base in time.
Stay tuned next week for Week 5 of the matches!
