Team Razer.CGC, formerly known as Kingsurf.SG, emerged victorious at the Gameworks Singapore DotA Haven tournament after defeating Axis.Dota in the finals last weekend.
Held at the Game Haven cyber cafe from 22 and 23 August, DotA Haven saw 16 teams participate in the group stage on Saturday, with the top 8 teams proceeding to the double elimination portion of the competition on Sunday.
The finals between Razer.CGC and Axis.Dota was to be a best of three match. Razer.CGC won the first match and Axis.Dota took the second match. However, Axis.Dota forfeited the third round as one of their players had to leave the tournament, resulting in a win for Razer.CGC.
Speaking to GameSync, Razer.CGC leader Lim “hyhy” Han Yong said that it was an easy tournament for the team and that Razer.CGC only lost the second set of the finals to Axis because they were trying new heroes and tactics.
The final results and prizes were:
- 1st: Razer.CGC (S$400 cash + 5 x Verbatim mice)
- 2nd: Axis.Dota (S$200 cash)
- 3rd: `w4s|*.sg (S$100 cash)
