After weeks of rumours surrounding the release date of Assassin’s Creed III, and last week’s leakage of ACIII artwork, Ubisoft has officially, and finally announced the title’s existence, which will be out on 31 October.
In a press release on their official website, ACIII is confirmed to be set in 18th century Colonial America, during the period of the American Revolution where the country was fighting for independence from Great Britain.
The game’s new protagonist is named Ratohnhaké:ton (say that three times fast), who is of mixed Native American and English heritage. He will adopt the thankfully shorter, and easier to pronounce nickname of “Connor”. It is still unclear which side of the conflict Connor will fight for, or both.
ACIII is due to be released on all major platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and yes, even the Wii U (??).
