The wait is over. Diablo III will launch on 15 May and is available for digital pre-purchase now on Battle.net, according to an update posted on the Diablo III website Thursday night.
Pre-purchasing the game will allow players to preload the game before launch day and start playing the moment servers go live.
The game was originally slated for release in the first quarter of 2012, but was subsequently delayed until the second quarter.
