Eight of the best StarCraft II teams from Oceania and Southeast Asia are competing against each other in the Xeria Gaming Team League (xGTL), which started earlier this month.
At stake in the nine-week long team tournament put together by Australia- and New Zealand-based team Xeria Gaming is a A$650 cash prize pool, as well as product prizes sponsored by Kingston and Razer.
In xGTL, each team has to send out players to play in four individual best of three series. In the event of a tie, a fifth best of three series is played.
After eight weeks of round robin play, the top four teams will move to the finals, where they will face off in a double elimination bracket.
Among the teams participating are Singapore’s Flash e-Sports, Thailand’s MiTH, and the Philippines’s Mineski. You can read more information about the league and teams here.
The next match on Monday, 18 June is between MiTH and GAMECOM Nv, which has popular Australian Zerg player Andrew “mOOnGLaDe” Pender on its roster. It will be streamed and shoutcasted live here.
