Blizzard offers 75% discount for past WoW games on online store

World of WarCraft 75% discount offer

Looks like Blizzard is going all out to attract new subscribers for their upcoming World of WarCraft (WoW) expansion, Mists of Pandaria. From now until 28 August, 3pm (Singapore time), you can purchase the WoW Battle Chest (containing vanilla WoW and Burning Crusade) for US$5, Wrath of the Lich King for US$5, and Cataclysm for US$10 from Blizzard’s online store.

This is the first time that Blizzard is offering such a massive discount for their games. The WoW games have been discounted during special sales in the past, but not at the current, Steam Sale-esque 75% bargain.

As an ex-WoW player who only played the original vanilla version for about a month, I must admit that this is a pretty tempting offer to lure me back into Azeroth.

Mists of Pandaria is scheduled for a 25 September release.
