Vietnam emerged as the new Asia-Pacific champions after winning two gold medals for DotA Allstars and FIFA 09 at the 2009 WCG Asian Championship.
Nobody expected Vietnam’s DotA Allstars team to perform so strongly. They eliminated the top regional teams from Singapore in the semi-finals and Malaysia in the finals on their way to the gold medal.
New Zealand was the only country to succesfully defend their top position in a game this time round, retaining their gold medal in Guitar Hero World Tour. This win placed them second in the championship table.
Malaysia and Singapore place joint-third with one silver and one bronze medal each.
