ACSL to bring CSS teams across Asia together for competition

The Asian Counter-Strike: Source League (ACSL) is a Counter-Strike: Source tournament promises to feature competitive CSS teams from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore and other Asian countries.

The ACSL will be played in a league format, with teams will be divided into divisions of eleven teams each. They will then play against each other over the course of a ten match season, after which the top team in each division will be promoted into a higher division, while the second team will have to play a match against the second last placing team in an upper division to be promoted. All matches will be played online and hosted in Hong Kong, with the reason in the FAQ being that “Hong Kong is the hub to which most Asian countries can connect to with a reasonable ping”. There will be no prizes for the inaugural season.

The ACSL is definitely one of the biggest Counter-Strike: Source events in recent memory for the Singapore gaming community, prize or no prize, what with Counter-Strike 1.6 being used in most competitions here. Some of the participating teams from our immediate region include PandemoniuMâ„¢, Team Synergy, Xtatic Gaming, Team XTCand Team xrN from Singapore and Team FuSi0N from Malaysia.

Registration for the ACSL remains open until the 14th of February 2007.
