WCG.SG 2007 PAYM League: Micronology ends XtC’s fairytale run

[b]SINGAPORE[/b] – Micronology ended XtC’s fairytale run at the World Cyber Games 2007 Singapore Championship PAYM League at Changi-Simei Community Club to emerge as the overall champions for DotA Allstars.

XtC had no answer to Micronology’s superior teamwork and strategy as Micronology cruised to victory in under 50 minutes. Micronology drafted Beastmaster, Furion, Queen of Pain, Tinker and Zeus while XtC went with Nerubian Assassin, Pugna, Sand King, Syllabear and Warlock

For their efforts, Micronology walked away with S$1,000 in prize money as well as a seeding into the World Cyber Games 2007 Singapore National Finals.

Team leader Lim “hyhy” Han Yong said that Micronoloy was “happy” to win, as they would be seeded into the Singapore National Finals. When asked about how Micronology planned to spend their winnings, he said that they would spend it on LAN training sessions and just enjoy their earnings.

In the first round of the competition, XtC lost against Mi2, who were playing under the name “RsC-“. However, Mi2’s lineup had one xqR player. Due to the rule that the team lineup cannot be changed once seeded, they forfeited the match. This gave XtC a lucky break and enabled them to continue on.

However, to say that XtC did not deserve their second placing would be uncharitable in the extreme. XtC defeated heavyweights dN in the quarter-finals and FooSa in the semi-finals, and proofed that they were more than worth their salt.
