The Compaq AMD Pro-Gaming League announced the opening of registration for the final Winter Season, a change in the map version and additional participation restrictions for Autumn Season Elite team members.
Registration for the Open Category will cost S$40 and be open until 17th December 2007, according to an announcement made on the CAPL website. DotA Allstars map version 6.49b will be used instead of the previously used 6.46b.
Also announced was a ruling completely banning Elite Category team members from participating in the Open Category. Previously, only teams that consisted of three or more Elite Category players were barred from taking part in the Open Category.
A spokesperson from organizer Rapture Gaming has explained that the ruling was implemented to prevent Elite Category teams from disbanding and rejoining under the Open Category for a relatively easier playing field.
"We want to make sure that Elite Teams do not take the promotion or privilege of being an Elite team for granted," said the spokesperson.
The CAPL 07/08 Winter Season will be held at E2Max @ Cine-L9 from the 29th to 31st of December 2007.
