EA Play 08 a treat for all gamers

EA Play, Electronic Arts’ annual game title showcase, looks set to be more than just an event for casual gamers this year. With a tournament covering the Asia Pacific region featuring six game titles, competitive gamers and fans have much to be excited about as well.

EA Play is slated to be held this Saturday and Sunday at the Marina Square Shopping Centre’s Central Atrium, from 10am to 9pm daily.

The tournament component of this year’s EA Play has been greatly expanded from the previous year. It will feature gamers from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan and Thailand gathering to compete in six game titles across three plaforms.

The game titles are: Command & Conquer 3 and Crysis on the PC, FIFA 08 and NBA Street Homecourt on the Playstation 3, and Need for Speed ProStreet and Skate on the Xbox 360.

While the competitive community will be treated to an exciting weekend, the casual crowd is not neglected as well. There will be demos of yet to be released games such as the upcoming C&C3 expansion pack, Kane’s Wrath, as well as Will Wright’s Spore Creature Creator.

The public will also get a chance to meet with EA’s game producers hailing from the game studios under its umbrella.
