Student leaders organize charity gaming extravaganza

[b]SINGAPORE[/b] – Have you always wanted to play games and win prizes while still helping the needy? Student leaders from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University are making that a reality.

They have come together to organize Lan Extravaganza 2007, a gaming event for the benefit of charity.

Lan Extravaganza will be held from 31 August to 2 September 2007 at Suntec City. There will be an inter-tertiary [url=http://www.gamingfiesta.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=46]DotA Allstars competition[/url], open only to polytechnic and university teams, and a [url=http://www.gamingfiesta.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25&Itemid=46]Command & Conquer 3 tournament[/url].

Also planned is [url=http://www.gamingfiesta.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=46]LANathon[/url], an overnight LAN gaming session spanning 3 days, where gamers can play C&C3, Warcraft III and its associated custom maps.

Proceeds from the event will go to the [url=http://www.care.sg/]Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association[/url] (CARE). CARE provides school-based social work services to primary and secondary youths having difficulty coping with academic, emotional and social stresses.

Prizes for DotA[list]
[*]1st: S$250 cash and S$750 worth of prizes
[*]2nd: S$150 cash and S$350 worth of prizes
[*]3rd: S$100 cash and S$200 worth of prizes[/list]

Registration closes on 24 August 2007 and costs S$50 per DotA team, S$10 per person for C&C3, and S$10 per person per night for LANathon. Payment will be done on 25th at Suntec City Mall.
