Intel Gaming Cup and 3xE Gaming Competition

[b]Gaming.RP has revealed that it will be organizing two gaming competitions, the Intel Gaming Cup and the 3xE Gaming Competition, at the upcoming Republic Polytechnic Open House.[/b]

The 3xE Gaming Competition will be held on the 13th to 14th of January 2007 and must be secondary school, ITE students and students waiting for their “O” level results. It will be a 16-team tournament for both Counter-Strike 1.6 and DotA Allstars. Each team can be a maximum of 6 players, consisting of 5 players plus 1 reserve. Interestingly, the top prize has only 5 PlayStation Portables (PSP). An unspecified number of Razer Diamondbacks and Mantis’ are the prizes for the runner up. The Intel Gaming Cup is a 16-team DotA Allstars tournament open only to students of Republic Polytechnic. It will be held on the 15th to 16th of January 2007. A check at the [url=http://www.esportsc.com/]e-Sports Championship[/url] website revealed that this event will be part of the Intel Gaming Cup 2007 School Category. According to the ESC website, the Intel Cup is will be a series of competitions to be held in the first quarter of 2007, with the Grand Finals to be held during the March school holidays. The main tournament game will be DotA Allstars. Apart from gaming competitions, there will be an introductory course on game design, as well as “workshops on Cyber Wellness, where you will be able to know about the pros and cons of cyber gaming and how to cultivate positive well being online”.
