Hundreds of gamers have been fighting for supremacy this week at the inaugural World GameMaster Tournament Singapore National Finals held at the Funan Digitalife Mall.

The 7 day finals held throughout the week has gamers fighting for top spots in popular games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and DotA Allstars for cash prizes of up to $5000. Qualifiers were previously held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and the Singapore Management University for students, with open category entries vying for qualification this week.

According to Mr Lim Kuan Hoe, Events Manager from the official gaming partner, Rapture Gaming, this is the first year of the WGT competition both for Singapore as well as the world. He mentioned that since for their first year WGT has not decided to hold an international competition, instead deciding to hold national competitions in individual countries.

The action is expected to heat up this Saturday and Sunday when the final rounds for DotA and Counter-Strike will be played out. Selected matches will be screened, accompanied by live commentary from Rapture’s very own commentators, making matches even more suspenseful and exciting for spectators.

So don’t miss this opportunity to see some of Singapore’s best talents in action!
