Eyewitness reports and circumstantial evidence point towards Aaron "Phenic" Aw being the new General Manager of local Championship Gaming Series franchise Singapore Sword.
Informants told GameSync that Phenic was seen approaching Counter-Strike: Source teams last Saturday at E2Max. He was overheard introducing himself as the new Sword GM, and that he would like to take a look at the teams while they play.
There is also some circumstantial evidence pointing towards the identity of the new GM. In the rules and regulations PDF for the Sword draft held this Saturday, Phenic is listed as the contact person for enquiries. While this might not be out of the ordinary, what is striking is that in the PDF metadata of the PDF, "Phenic" is listed as the author.
When contacted, Phenic said that he could not "confirm or deny" that he was the Sword GM, "because official announcements need to be made first".
To date, CGS has not announced a new GM for Singapore, despite the Sword selections being held this weekend and the Pan-Asian Final looming ever closer.
If Phenic is indeed the new Singapore Sword GM, this would be a first time any one has ever ascended from being a player in a CGS team to become the team’s manager.
Whatever the case, the identity of the GM will be made clear during the Singapore Sword selections this weekend at E2Max@TheCathay.
