Singapore Counter-Strike 1.6 team TitaNs are currently joint-second in Group D along with Taiwanese team ULTIMAX (UMX), in the group stage at the Electronic Sports World Cup Asia Masters of Cheonan, but stand a good chance of pulling ahead of UMX to proceed to the playoffs.
According to live updates from the compLexity Gaming website, both TitaNs and UMX are in second position with one win and one loss each. Danish team mTw is currently on top of Group D having won both their matches played so far, while South Korean team Newface is currently the whipping boy of the group, having lost all their matches played.
All hopes of TitaNs proceeding to the playoff stage rests on the last matchs TitaNs and UMX are due to play. Barring any upsets, TitaNs should be able to come out second in Group D. The Singaporean team looks set to readily defeat Newface (UMX crushed Newface 16-6), while it is likely mTw will defeat UMX.
If that scenario occurs, mTw will top the table with 3 wins, TitaNs will come in second with 2 wins and a loss, while UMX will be left trailing with 1 win and 2 losses.
