If you were expecting lots of video games action with the addition of “games” to this year’s Singapore Toys Games and Comics Convention (STGCC), be prepared to be disappointed – the only video games exhibitor was Nintendo. On the bright side, this will be the first time that you’ll be able to try out the new Wii MotionPlus controller since it was announced at E3.
Besides the numerous Wii consoles showing off the new Wii Sports Resort, which comes bundled with the MotionPlus controller, there are a few game hands-on demos exclusive to the convention – beta builds of Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks, Spectrobes: Origins and Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga are all available to be played.
There’s also an M18-only section featuring Grand Theft Auto: China Wars, House of the Dead: Overkill, Mad World and One Chanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers.
Besides the Wii, Nintendo also put up DS Lite games for the public to try out.
For this convention, Maxsoft, the distributor of Nintendo in Singapore, has partnered with with the G3 Interactive games retail chain to provide discounted DS Lite and Wii packages and accessories for sale at discount prices so you can buy anything that catches your fancy at the Nintendo booth.
If you just want to find out more about the Wii or the MotionPlus addon, there’s no better place to try the console first hand, especially since one of the Maxsoft staff informed GameSync that Nintendo will not be making an appearance at next month’s Game Convention Asia.
The STGCC closes today. You can visit the convention at the Suntec Exhibition Centre Hall 401 & 402. Admission is free.
