Sony will officially launch the PlayStation Vita in Singapore with a five-day roadshow at the 313@Somerset shopping mall beginning 22 February. As part of the launch event, Sony is introducing two official PS Vita bundles: the value pack and the software bundle pack.
The actual kick off to Sony’s aggressive promotion campaign for the PS Vita will begin at 5pm on Wednesday, 22 February — probably precluding most people who are holding a full-time job from attending.
Here are the contents of the bundle pack:
- PlayStation Vita (Wi-Fi model)
- USB Cable
- AC Adaptor and Power Cord
- Choice of Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Chinese and English version) OR Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus
- PlayStation Vita 4GB memory card
- PlayStation Vita Accessory Pack (only included in value pack)
And here’s the prices:
- Value pack with Uncharted: Golden Abyss — S$499
- Value pack with Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus — S$489
- Software bundle pack with Uncharted: Golden Abyss — S$479
- Software bundle pack with Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus — S$469
Confused? No worries, here’s the explanation: Essentially, Uncharted: Golden Abyss will cost you S$10 more than Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus. If you want to get the PS Vita accessory pack — which consists of a case, a screen protector, a cleaning cloth, a memory card case and a wrist strap — it will cost you another S$20. Simple. Well as simple as it gets, anyway.
The PS Vita itself, without any games or accessories, is retailing at S$399 in Singapore so the packs do seem like a good deal, although a steep one to begin with. Don’t miss out on our in-depth review of the PlayStation Vita if you want to learn more about the device.
It also seems like the 3G version of the PS Vita will not make its way to Singapore officially, so if you want mobile data access, you’ll need to get yourself an import set.
