Assassin’s Creed III to launch on 30th October, 2012

Assassins-Creed-3-30th-October

While the existence of Assassin’s Creed III isn’t exactly one of gaming’s most well kept secrets, Ubisoft has very recently lifted the veil over the release date of  the next highly anticipated installment to their flagship franchise.

Tentatively, Assassin’s Creed III is set to see a console release on 30th October of this year while the date of its PC release remains unconfirmed. With so much time between us and ACIII’s toted release however, you can fully expect Ubisoft to drop just enough news and tidbits to keep us interested over the coming months.

For the unaware, AC: Revelations and Embers saw a definite end to the sagas of Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze, both of whom were key protagonists that AC fans the world over have grown to love and even worship. With the slate wiped clean, Assassin’s Creed III will harken the arrival of a brand new protagonist, one that currently remains shrouded in mystery. Rumors and hints are abound and most speculate that ACIII may be set in either Ancient Egypt, China or during the American Revolution and feature yet another one of Desmond’s descendants who may or may not be working against the cause of the Assassins. Still, there is way too little information for us to go on at the moment and it’d definitely be best if you take these speculations with a heavy pinch of salt.

In related news, Ubisoft has also confirmed that ACIII – having seen a three year developmental timeline – will greatly deliver in its game features and advancements, over and above what we’ve seen thus far across ACI, II and it’s accompanying sequels. The developers themselves have claimed ACIII to be their biggest launch in Ubisoft history and I for one am expecting nothing short of a revolution (see what I did there?) in gameplay or storyline.

To that end, what would YOU like to see in the next installment of Assassin’s Creed?
