Jared “slyfoxlover” Beins went all the way to the finals of the Asphalt 4: Elite Racing mobile game but lost to 
Liu “TER_BURBERRYqq” You-Shen at the World Cyber Games 2009 Grand Final in Chengdu, China last Sunday, bringing home a silver medal for Singapore.
The Taiwanese won the first round but slyfoxlover was able to make a comeback in the second. However, TER_BURBERRYqq was simply too fast for slyfoxlover in the final tiebreaker round, taking the round and the match with an overall score of 2-1.
The silver medal was Singapore’s only medal at this year’s WCG and a reduction from 2008’s medal haul. Singapore won a gold medal in Asphalt 4 and a silver medal in Virtua Fighter 5 in last year’s WCG in Germany.
With the exception of Marcus “Revenant” Tan playing WarCraft III — who made it to the single elimination round but was defeated at the top 16 stage — the other members of the Singapore WCG team did not make it out of the group stages.
