Team dN- claim top spot at Yew Tee CC

[b]SINGAPORE[/b] – Team dN- defeated dark horse SocceR to take home the top spot at the World Cyber Games 2007 Singapore Championship PAYM League Yew Tee Community Club leg.

Second-placed SocceR had a relatively easy first three rounds, facing their first real challenge team rEv0 in the semi-finals. SocceR overcame the odds to vanquish rEv0 and proceed to the finals, where their winning streak was stopped by dN-.

dN-‘s win over SocceR nets dN- S$1,000 in prize money and a seeding to the top 32 stage of the WCG 2007 Singapore National Finals. SocceR received S$750 in prize money for their efforts.

Meanwhile, in the 3rd placing match, Gamers Inc. defeated rEv0 and walked away with S$500 in prize money.

This is the second week running that a relatively unknown team has made it all the way to the finals of a DotA tournament in a WCG event.

In last week’s PAYM League leg at Changi-Simei CC, team XtC made it to the finals, where they were defeated by Micronology.
