If, like me, you had hoped that Blizzard would talk about its unannounced MMO project — codenamed “Titan” — at the upcoming BlizzCon in October, our hopes are now crushed. Blizzard has come out to say that it will not be making any announcements, let alone discuss the game.
Diablo III community manager Micah “Bashiok” Whipple did the honours in a post on the official World of Warcraft forums:
Some of you might have seen some recent speculation out there regarding the unannounced MMO and BlizzCon. There’s going to be a ton of information and content at the show — including a closing concert by Foo Fighters, which we just revealed today — but we want to be clear up front that we’re not going to be discussing the unannounced MMO.
The existence of the Titan project was revealed in leaked documents detailing the company’s games release schedule up till 2014. According to the documents, Titan is due for release at the end of 2013.
