L4D: SgWarGames servers are down

Update: The solution to the server problems has been identified. Frez is now in the process of correcting all SgWg servers.

Original: The latest Crash Course updates for Left 4 Dead is causing problems for all SgWarGames L4D servers. Both Linux and Windows L4D servers are affected.

Frez, the server administrator in charge of updating the servers, said the updating process for the servers has somehow left them in an unplayable state.

By now, most of you readers would have figured out that I am some sort of arcade fanatic and a huge King of Fighters fanboy. You guys would also have realised that I have absolutely no sympathy for idiots with no brains.

L4D2 demo announced, Crash Course DLC arriving 30 Sept (S’pore time)

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo has been announced by Valve at an Electronic Arts press conference in Japan. The demo is due to be released on Steam on 28 October (Singapore time), just before Halloween.

Now, before you L4D peeps start making plans for your Halloween L4D cosplay, Shacknews has confirmed that the release of the L4D2 demo on 28 October will be exclusive to pre-order customers only.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift announced

Update: Continuum Shift will be out in Japanese arcades this December.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be getting an expansion called BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, according to the newest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Continuum Shift will feature at least one new character (Tsubaki Yayoi), new stages, new moves and rebalanced controls, and an improved HUD.

Judging from the epic flame war massive amount of discussion generated from FGJ#1, it seems that the majority of you L4D folks are generally receptive to the merits of playing in-house games.

ZenZeZ, the youngest member of Wallhackers, has done a pre-emptive strike and created a Steam group just for the purpose of gathering players for in-house matches.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings alpha video leaked

A preview video of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been posted on YouTube, which you can view embedded above.

Judging by the big "Warning: this video is confidential - internal use only" disclaimer, this is probably a leaked video that Polish developers CD Projekt did not intend to release to the public.

The video clearly states that the game is still in the Alpha stages, so don't expect The Witcher 2 to be out any time soon.
