Another WCG Singapore Photo Release

TEMASEK POLYTECHNIC DOMINATES BATTLE FOR LAST REMAINING POSITIONS IN WORLD CYBER GAMES 2005 SINGAPORE NATIONAL FINAL

SINGAPORE – 31 AUGUST 2005 – In the final leg of the Samsung Campus Gaming Festival today, 96 students from seven polytechnics/universities fought it out for the final remaining positions in the World Cyber Games 2005 (WCG2005) Singapore National Final.

Temasek Polytechnic dominated proceedings, winning three of the four games competed: Counter-Strike Source, Need for Speed Underground 2, and DOTA All-Stars. The other game, WarcraftIII, was won by Singapore Management University. All four games will be played at the National Final.

The champion of each category won for themselves Samsung mobile phones, as well as coveted seeded positions in the WCG2005 Singapore National Final to be held from September 9-11. In the National Final, competitors will fight for a dream ticket to represent Singapore in the WCG2005 Grand Finals, also to be held in Singapore from November 16-20.

Today’s win marks the end of the Samsung Campus Gaming Festival final, after the secondary school and junior college legs in the past two days. Over 244 participants from 21 schools/institutions participated in total in the three days of competition.
