Modern Warfare 2 third person mode confirmed

Yesterday, GameSync.net reported on rumours that Modern Warfare 2 will have a third person mode, based on leaked gameplay footage. Infinity Ward has since confirmed this but said that the feature will be limited to the multiplayer mode only.

Infinity Ward’s creative strategist Robert Bowling told Kotaku that the third person mode is simply another game mode like Team Deathmatch. Third person mode players will only be able to play with third person mode users and there is no option to toggle in and out of the third person view.

The minimum system requirements for the PC version of MW2 have also been released:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Windows 95/98/ME/2000 are unsupported)
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor or better supported

Awesome! I always liked third-person perspective games. Kinda sad that you can’t play single player in third-person though…
