Galvin "gosubay" Bay and Ivan "simplestyle" Loo each walked away with an Intel Core2Quad processor for emerging as the best players in Warcraft III and Counter-Strike 1.6 respectively at the RAMPAGE Asia Singapore tournament held last Saturday.
The WC3 division was hotly contested, with many big names in the Singapore competitive scene turning up for the competition.
Tagan- was unlucky to meet eventual champion gosubay in the first round of the tournament and was defeated by gosubay. Meanwhile, girlyluck was unable to set up a rematch with rival gosubay as he lost to Chicken89 in the quarter-finals. Earlier this year, gosubay had denied girlyluck the World Cyber Games WC3 crown.
In the other half of the brackets, favourite nickt and PInkLy_ cleared all opposition to meet each other in the semi-finals. PInkLy_ was able to prevail over nickt but lost to gosubay in the finals, earning himself the runner-up spot. nickt defeated Chicken89 to emerge as the second runner-up.
Meanwhile, in the first Counter-Strike 1.6 1v1 competition in recent memory, simplestyle defeated YongL in the finals to book himself as the champion, while cooldude defeated Spidey in the third placing match.
In addition to the champions’ prizes, the runners-up also walked away with an Intel motherboard.
