Singapore’s PS Vita 3G: Details about SingTel data plans

PlayStation Vita

The 3G version of the PlayStation Vita was officially released in Singapore last weekend, with a launch party held at Bugis Junction. But what we forgot to mention in that article, is that SingTel will be the official telco for the PS Vita 3G.

There are four price plans offered by SingTel:

  • Pay S$99 for the 3G Vita and get 50GB of data per month (an additional charge of S$40 per month for a two-year SingTel contract)
  • Pay S$268 for the 3G Vita and get 1GB of data per month (an additional charge of S$17.90 per month for a two-year SingTel contract)
  • Pay S$469 for the 3G Vita and get 1GB of data per month (an additional charge of S$9.90 per month for a three-month SingTel contract)
  • Pay S$469 for the 3G Vita and get two Multi-Sim cards for use with any existing SingTel 3G plan that you are already subscribed to (an additional charge of S$10.70 per month)

If you are a heavy user who needs to be constantly online and downloading games on the go, then the first S$99 option seems to be the way to go.

For those that don’t like SingTel, or find the accumulated costs to be too expensive, there’s always the vanilla Wi-Fi version of the Vita. Your ability to stay connected while on the go will be weaker, but it’s still significantly cheaper compared to the 3G version.
