The June issue of Game Informer magazine has the first details on Capcom’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.
Four more characters in the fighting line-up have been revealed: Felicia, Deadpool, Dante, and Captain America. They are joined by Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, and Ryu, which brings the current roster of fighters up to ten. Capcom plans to have at least 30 characters in the final game.
The big news is that MvC3 will use the same four-button control scheme as Tatsunoku Vs. Capcom (Light, Medium, Heavy, Partner), which is a departure from the six-button layout used by Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter IV.
The series’ staple of Hyper Combos, Snapbacks, and Variable Assists will still be retained. The game will also include simplified “launcher” attacks that are executed by an “Exchange Button,” which can be countered (i.e. teched) by the opponent by guessing the correct exchange move executed.
Foppy says: Launcher teching? Sounds like an interesting mechanic to defend yourself against air combos. And we still don’t know if there will be Disney characters.
