Yesterday afternoon, Mr. John Anton, General Manager and Vice-President of Intel Asia-Pacific visited the H.I.G.H Cyber Lounge where the Intel Gaming Cup cybercafe tournament was being held.
He was greeted by Mr Herman Ng, Managing Director of Rapture Gaming and Mr Andrew Cheah, Director of Asteroids Cyber. Asteroids Cyber manages the H.I.G.H Cyber Lounge.
Mr Anton was brought on a tour of H.I.G.H, during which he was shown the playing area, the private training rooms, and the bar. Later, he sat down with Mr Cheah and Mr Ng for an informal coffee table chat.
During the course of the informal meeting, Mr Ng briefed Mr Anton about the Intel Gaming Cup and the upcoming World Cyber Games. Mr Ng revealed that this year’s WCG Asian Championships will once again be held in Singapore. Mr Cheah also answered queries from Mr Anton regarding H.I.G.H’s business model and revenue.
Later, Mr Anton presided over a small prize giving ceremony for the Intel Gaming Cup. He gave out the S$200 in prize money to the teams who had qualified for the IGC grand finals in the earlier at the Republic Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic tournaments.
